An oval plant with close-packed leaves. The outer foliage is elongated and bright red, while the main ribs are of average width and white. This radicchio lends itself to various refined recipes and consumption throughout the year.
Early red radicchio has the same beneficial properties as its round version. It is usually eaten cooked, pan-seared or grilled, or in risotto.
